Weekly Craft Challenge (July 1st-6th)

Greetings, Teens!

Looking for another way to earn raffle tickets - try the Teen Department's Weekly Challenges.  Each week there will be a photo challenge that you may do to earn a raffle ticket. 

To get your raffle ticket - simply upload your photo to our Facebook page.  You may find us on Facebook at Bristol Library - YA Department.  (FYI - you also get a raffle ticket for liking us on Facebook).  If you don't have a Facebook page, you may also send your picture to me via email at bristolyalibrary@gmail.com.  If you aren't a fan of technology, just bring your finished product down to the Library and show me.

This week's Craft Challenge is to make a tissue paper star.  Super decorative!  This is a pretty advanced craft - lots of folding - so, I'm going to give you 2 raffle tickets for completing it.

This week's Craft Challenge is to make a duct tape wallet!  Crafty and handy!  Because this craft is a little more difficult, you will earn TWO complete raffle tickets this week!

Beneath the Surface

Greetings, All!

     Well, it's official - Summer Reading is here!  Starting tomorrow, you can come down to the Teen department to register, get your candy, and sign up for programs.  Also, on Monday, I will have bonus refreshments for all of you who register on the first day of the program.
     This is another busy week and I look forward to seeing more of you to talk about Summer Reading. I'll be at West Bristol, Hubbell, and South Side this week.
     The last thing I want to mention is that the Weekly Photo and Weekly Craft challenge will be posted by the end of the day.  These are extra ways to earn raffle tickets.  There will also be directions in the post for how to participate.

Summer Reading 2013

Hey Gang,
I've begun my annual school visits to talk about Summer Reading.  Today I visited Greene-Hills and this week will also find me at St. Anthony's, West Bristol, and Edgewood.  I can't wait to visit with all of you to talk about the programs I have for you this summer.
You can actually start registering for Summer Reading next Monday (6/17).  I won't have seen all of you by then at your school, but you should have gotten a flyer at school and you can definitely come down and register at that point.  On Monday, I'll kick off the start of SR with some refreshments in the Teen department.
For those of you looking to get your Summer Reading book, you can also find those in the Teen department.  Look for the books with the blue sticker on the spine.
